Are you a dedicated Occupational Health and Safety Engineer who thrives close to production and wants to help create safe workplaces in a complex and exciting tunneling contract? Then this might be the role for you.

We are now looking for an Occupational Health and Safety Engineer with responsibility as BAS-U for a major infrastructure project where safety, collaboration, and visible leadership are crucial for success.

About the Role

In the role of Occupational Health and Safety Engineer/BAS-U, you will become a key person in the project organization, responsible for driving and developing workplace safety efforts in the production phase. You will work closely with site management, foremen, and skilled workers to ensure that work is planned and executed safely.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

• Responsibility for the BAS-U assignment during the production period.
• Coordinate and follow up on workplace safety efforts within the project.
• Participate in production planning with a focus on risk management and safe working methods.
• Conduct safety rounds, risk assessments, and workplace inspections.
• Support and coach the project organization on workplace safety issues.
• Contribute to developing and strengthening the project's safety culture.

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in workplace safety and who thrives in an operation with a high pace and decisions made close to production.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• Experience in workplace safety within the construction or infrastructure industry.
• Experience or competence to act as BAS-U.
• Good knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and current regulations.
• Ability to build trust and establish good relationships within the project organization.
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Qualifications that are an advantage

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, or equivalent.
• Previous experience from major infrastructure contracts.
• Experience working independently as BAS-U in large projects.
• Experience as Site Manager, Production Manager, or other leading roles within construction and infrastructure production.
